Take an extraordinarily vivid journey into passenger rail travel! Starting right here in Darlington in 1825 with Locomotion No. 1's first steam-powered passenger railway journey, take an exciting ride into the past to discover more about the history of the railways, and imagine where they will take us in the future!
See the impact Darlington's railway heritage has had across societies and cultures across time and around the world.

As a special Christmas treat, Experiment! bookers can get £5 off each of your tickets on selected Darlington Hippodrome pantomime performances. This offer is valid on the following performances -
7pm on the 5th, 13th, 16th, and 17th of December,
6pm on the 29th and 30th of December
5.30pm on the 7th, 11th, 14th, 26th, and 28th of December
2pm on the 9th and 19th of December

Ticketing information
Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm. Also open on Mondays during Darlington's school holidays.
The ride runs at approximately 20 minute intervals.
£5 per passenger
Pre-booking recommended. Tickets can be booked online or in person at the Welcome Desk in the Goods Shed.
