Tracks' LTH Express 25
Once again, we warm up for Tracks Darlington's Last Train Home Festival with a cosy evening of live music at Hopetown Darlington on September 4th.
This year the event features the dreamy soundscapes of Leeds band Sunflower Thieves. Rooted in sisterhood, childhood friends Amy Illingworth and Lily Sturt-Bolshaw found their feet in Leeds to form Sunflower Thieves. Gathering plaudits from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, BBC Introducing, Radio X, Clash, The Line Of Best Fit, Atwood Mag & more along the way, they released their debut EP ‘Someone To Be There For’ in 2022 and follow up 'Same Blood' EP in 2024.
A self-produced partnership, nurturing a unique sound, SFT take a blueprint of dreamy, rousing soundscapes and inject it with grit and vulnerability. Navigating friendships, the longing for connection, romance, mental health and therapy, it’s a warm, comforting hug and support network in sonic form.
In Sept 2024, Sunflower Thieves played their debut headline tour with packed-out shows in London and at the legendary Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.
Support comes from locally grown americana band North Riding, and folkish fusions from Darlington's own Phil Cox.
It's always a beautiful evening, spent listening to chilled out tunes in a historic atmosphere. Treat yourself right and start this year's LTH Festival with a beautiful night of music in a beautiful setting.
With thanks to Arts Council England and Creative Darlington for supporting this event
