Connected Communities: Refugee Week - A creative workshop at Hopetown Darlington.

Join Connected Communities for a large-scale, open workshop where people come together around one shared table to create a growing artwork across the day.

Through simple screenprint and stencil techniques, participants will contribute marks, symbols and words responding to the theme of Courage.

No experience needed. Just drop in and take part.

What to expect

  • A welcoming, open environment for all ages
  • Hands-on printmaking using accessible screen printing techniques
  • A large communal artwork that evolves throughout the day
  • The chance to create your own A3 print to take home

Event details

  • Duration: (drop-in) open all day 10am - 4pm
  • Stay: 5 minutes or 45 - all contributions matter

Connected Communities is led by the Institute for Collective Place Leadership at Teesside University, in collaboration with Creative Darlington, Centre for Local Studies, Hopetown Darlington, The Forum, and Darlington Assistance for Refugees, and is supported by the AHRC Impact Acceleration Account and Creative Darlington. In partnership with the Stockton and Darlington Railway 26 miles Heritage Project and funded by the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
